On Sunday 15th March we were informed that a member of a Dutch tour group who visited Muratie on Saturday 7th March (the same Dutch group who visited Delheim wine estate) had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
We at Muratie Estate have subsequently made it our top priority to safeguard the health and safety of all our employees, visitors and residents, implementing all the necessary precautionary measures as stipulated by the World Health Organisation.
All members of staff who interacted with the group, even though they were not showing any signs of the virus, immediately went into self-isolation as a precautionary measure. The Estate also promptly put comprehensive sterilisation and sanitation measures in place to prevent any potential exposure to infection. Ten days later no one connected to Muratie has shown any of the symptoms related to the coronavirus.
Our tasting room and restaurant are still operating normally. Regular sterilisation of all surfaces is a priority and hand sanitising is compulsory for all staff and visitors. We are committed to deliver the highest standard of hygiene, service and quality to all our staff and visitors and will review the situation regularly.
We at Muratie Estate are 100% committed as a team to help limit the spread of the infectious Covid-19 virus. These are difficult times for all of us as the world struggles to come to grips with the coronavirus. Anyone experiencing any symptoms related to the Covid-19 virus, should call the public hotline on 0800 029 999.
